Round 1:

Working clockwise around the loom, wrap the yarn counter clockwise.

(The inside of the loom will look like 'cursive' letter 'e’s' around each peg. )

Wrap the yarn loosely around the pegs. Continue around the loom until all of the pegs have one wrap on them. Push the wraps toward the bottom of the pegs to accommodate a second round of wraps.

Round 2:

Continue wrapping in a clockwise direction, wrapping the pegs with the small 'cursive' letter e wrap. This round goes on all pegs, above the 1st wrapping.

Round 3:

Begin Knitting Off. Use the loom tool, starting at peg #1, pick up the bottom loop, and pull it up and over the top loop and off the peg. Leaving the top loop on the peg. Continue around the loom until all of the pegs have only 1 loop on them. Push the remaining loops toward the bottom of the pegs to accommodate another round of loops.

To make stripes:

Tie a new color to the old color with a square knot at the tack pin and wrap the loom with the new color. This may be repeated as often as you like.

Brim of the Hat:

When you have loomed 10 rows, tuck the “tail” yarn onto the brim area. Reach inside of the loom, grab hold of the beginning row. Put the loops on to the pegs.

Knitting Off the Brim:

Start at peg #1 and pull the bottom loop up and over the top loop. There will be one loop on each peg.

Hat:

Loom the remainder of the hat, beginning with peg #1, E-wrap and knit off each row until the desired length has been loomed.

Finishing the Hat:

Wrap the working strand of yarn twice around the loom and cut if off. Thead this tail unto a yarn needle.  Work each peg individually to remove the hat from the loom, with the Gathering Removal method.
